Marketing Opportunity

(for Architects, Designers, Builders, Developers & Retirement Village Operators)

The purpose of the Lifemark Licensing Programme is to stimulate buyer awareness and deliver a point of difference in the market for those products that carry the Lifemark seal of approval.  Therefore Lifetime Design and the Lifemark form an integrated business and marketing opportunity as well as being a social enterprise movement.

Builders, developers, architects, designers and manufacturers throughout the world are now responding to the changing profile and needs of the consumer.  Marketers across all categories (e.g. housing, transport, vehicles, lifestyle, retail, tourism, furniture, fixtures & fittings) have seen the potential in designing and manufacturing products that meet the Principles of Lifetime Design usability, adaptability, accessibility, inclusion and lifetime value.

Emerging customer niche markets include:

•    Families with young children wanting to move safely in and aroun their homes and environment.
•    Older people choosing to remain sucessfully homes as they age and being able to participate in their wider community.
•    People with disabilities seeking useable and adaptable homes so every day life is made easier.

Widespread support for Lifetime Design and Lifemark

There’s a global movement focused on incorporating design features for today’s changing population.  In New Zealand this movement is called Lifetime Design and is represented by the Lifemark seal of approval.

Housing and products that carry the Lifemark seal of approval have been designed according to the 5 Key Principles of Lifetime Design and have achieved the LifeStandard for that product category.

People and organisations across all sectors of the community including businesses, designers, developers, community organisations and local/central government are already supporting the Lifemark and this provides the consumer with confidence and peace of mind when making a significant purchasing decision.  David Russell, previous CEO of Consumers Institute, is the official Lifemark Ambassador.
