Lifemark™ for Social Housing

A mark of means for easier funding.

There’s never been a greater need for housing in New Zealand. Yet the funding approval process can often get in the way of social housing projects. And even when it doesn’t, how can you be sure the homes you build are suitable for everyone, including the very young, elderly or disabled?

The Lifemark™ is awarded based on a set of simple, common sense design standards that make it safe and easy for people of all ages and abilities to continue living in their home as their needs change.

Homes designed with the Lifemark™ Standards are looked upon favourably by the new Social Housing Unit (SHU) of the Department of Building and Housing. Having accommodation that meets the Lifemark™ standards helps in positioning your organisation  towards gaining support from both the Social Housing Unit and future funders in this area.
